WHAT CAN I EXPECT ON THE DAY OF MY APPOINTMENT?

You will be given a full Complimentary consultation on the day where you will have the opportunity to discuss your desires, and expectations and how permanent make up will benefit you. Jemma will go over your completed paperwork and patch tests with you, to ensure you have a full understanding on what to expect and that you feel confident permanent make-up is the right choice for you. Once agreed and everything is in order to proceed, the next step is the colour selection process. You will be asked questions regarding your skin tone, How you tan and what colours you typically go when choosing your make up. If you have brought along a favourite make up item that you like the colour of, Jemma will work with you to create the perfect colour match. She will then test selected colours on you, This involves placing a small amount of pigment on to the area to be treated, and softly tapping in it to see how it sits on the skin, and how it looks overall. A lot of clients are under the impression that it is a "one for all" type treatment, but each treatment is bespoke to each and every individual client. The colour selection process is based more on your natural skin tone, and natural colouring than that of your current hair colour for example. This is what we refer to as “Future Proofing" your treatment in the permanent cosmetics industry. We know that trends change as do we over the years, what you like now, does not necessarily mean you will like in a few years to come. This is why we need to ensure what we select will still be suitable for what ever changes arise in the future. Once you have selected your chosen colour, Jemma will then begin drawing on a template with conventional make-up, this is designed to give you an understanding on the results you can expect to achieve. This is simply a guide for tattooing, you will be given a mirror throughout the process where Jemma will ask your views. Your opinion as the client is highly valued as the template is extremely important, so it must be a joint effort to ensure you achieve the best results for you. Once you have both agreed on your chosen template, Jemma will set up to begin the treatment.

WILL IT HURT?

Jemma is highly trained to manage any client discomfort. Most clients often refer to the sensation as an electric toothbrush being held against the skin, or a slight scratch, many have been known to drift off mid treatment. Each client is individual, Jemma will always do her best to ensure ultimate client comfort, and superior experience.

What Should I Expect After The Treatment?

After your treatment has finished you will be asked to sit up so the treatment area can be assessed. You will be invited to have a look in the mirror, to see if there are any adjustments you would like to make before agreeing on the finished treatment. The Colour will appear darker or more vibrant immediately after treatment, and will start to become lighter 4-7 days post procedure during the healing process. The true healed colour will show through around 6 weeks Post treatment, when the cell regeneration process has completed. Before you leave the clinic, you will invited to book in for your review appointment in 6 weeks time. Your review is to assess, and discuss the treatment after the healing process and make any adjustments if necessary. After the retouch appointment you are advised on how is best to care for your new procedure.

WHY IS AFTERCARE IMPORTANT?

Aftercare is of huge importance as the incorrect aftercare can have a detrimental effect on the healed results. You are always advised on the best aftercare for your procedure.

HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?

This will vary from client to client, with factors such as skin type, lifestyle, medications and so on. As a guide results can last 12 months before requiring a colour boost to refresh and prolong the treatments. Most clients return between 8-12 months for a Colour Boost. It is important To remember that permanent make up is a “Low" not “No" maintenance treatment. Whilst it will provide you with a perfect template, it will not prevent the need of basic maintenance.
